Fuel Prices Are Fair Today - Competition Agency

ლექვინაძე

The head of the Competition and Consumer Protection Agency, Irakli Lekvinadze declares that fuel prices are fair and fully in line with the world market as of 1Q24. As Lekvinadze told journalists, the competition agency continues to monitor the issue at this stage.

"Setting fuel prices has never been on the agenda, because there is free pricing and no one is going to revise this approach. Today, the Competition and Consumer Protection Agency monitors the fuel market. As of March 15, we have the initial monitoring results, according to which we can say that the fuel imports from Russia has decreased in percentage.

Local prices are competitive at this stage and in line with world market prices. We look at the margins of different companies and the factors that affect the pricing. According to our observation, at this stage, there is nothing non-competitive," said Lekvinadze.
