Fuel Prices Expected to Fall in Georgia as Global Oil Prices Decline

ვასილ ხორავა

Georgian fuel prices are expected to decrease in the near future as global oil prices continue to fall, according to Wissol CEO Vasil Khorava. He says that if the current downward trend persists, the recent increase of around 60 tetri in fuel prices could be reversed.

Khorava noted that international oil benchmarks have been declining for more than 10 days, which is already reflected in wholesale pricing. He said this trend should gradually translate into lower retail prices for consumers as new imports are purchased at reduced costs.

According to him, fuel prices in Georgia rose significantly during the recent geopolitical tensions, with diesel increasing by around GEL 1.20 and petrol by about 60 tetri. He added that diesel prices are expected to adjust downward more sharply, while petrol is likely to show a more moderate decline.

Global oil markets have also been trending downward, with Urals crude dropping to around $67 per barrel, Brent falling by about 26%, and WTI trading near $78, reinforcing expectations of further price adjustments in regional fuel markets.
