The co-founder and CEO of the Georgian fintech startup Payze, Gega Tsurtsumia, spoke to BM.GE about the challenges observed in 2022 and noted that due to the global crisis, investors were more cautious about investing in startups.
"The main challenge for 2022 was the world crisis, this had a great impact on the investment environment for startups, because investing in startups is relatively high-risk, and in the background of the world crisis, this industry has also lost a lot of funds - investors take less risk. Especially in emerging countries, including Georgia, it has become relatively difficult to raise funds," said Gega Tsurtsumia.
Payze is represented in the markets of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, in addition to Georgia. The number of companies using its service from all three countries exceeds 1,000.
The startup was created in 2020 and is an innovative digital transaction platform that provides any type of business in the Post-Soviet countries with a multi-functional platform for receiving payments online.
