Natural gas price will be increased by 8 tetri for Tbilisi Energy customers. The relevant decision was made by the GNERC a few minutes ago. The company requested itself increase of consumer tariffs.
The new tariff will be effective from June 1 in the country and the cost of 1 cubic meter natural gas will be 53,972 tetri instead of 46,138 tetri.
The tariff adjustment was caused by a change in the marginal tariff for gas supply, which increased from 26,810 tetri to 33,449 tetri.
The main reason for the tariff change was GEL exchange rate. In the tariff set in 2019, 1 GEL equaled to 2.97 USD. According to the decision made today, the GEL exchange rate was set at 3.37 in the new tariff.
The new tariffs will be effective until June 1, 2023.
