The Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency (GCCA) signed a commitment agreement with the “ El.Biletebi” Ltd (www.biletebi.ge) in favor of the consumer in the tickets online sector.
In accordance with the agreement signed between the GCCA and the trader, in order to eliminate the alleged violation of the law, the trader was instructed to:
- To change the company’s internal policy and comply with the requirements of the law;
- To develop a method for providing information to consumers in Georgian, clearly and comprehensively, and then posting it on the website www.biletebi.ge, social networks, and any other online platforms;
- To provide a clear and understandable indication of the service's sale and unit price;
- To clearly establish warranty conditions, etc.
According to the GCCA decision and as per the agreement, the trader was given a 3 month period to fulfill the obligations to the Agency.
For information: According to the data of eight months of 2024, 570 applications have been submitted regarding the protection of consumer rights. 59 consumer rights violations were confirmed in 123 cases. As a result of failure to fulfill obligations imposed by GCCA, 34 traders were fined a total of 38 301 GEL in 47 cases. The Agency signed 93 commitment agreements in favor of the consumer on 108 cases.
