In Q4 2023 the nominal Gross Domestic Product (GDP) amounted to GEL 22 321.7 million. The
real GDP increased by 6.9% YoY, while the GDP deflator percentage change equaled to 0.7% , - according to the National Statistics of Georgia (Geostat).
"In 4Q2023, the following industries made a significant contribution to growth: wholesale and retail trade; automobile and motorcycle repair (9.4 percent), information and communication (25.9 percent), education (30.4 percent), transportation and warehousing (17.7 percent), government and defense; Compulsory social security (16.8 percent), activities related to real estate (9.9 percent).
The decline was noted in the following sectors: agriculture, forestry and fishing (-8.1 percent), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning (-10.6 percent), health care and social service activities (-4.5 percent).Trade (16.7 percent) and real estate-related activities (10.2 percent) have the largest shares in the sectoral structure of the GDP. The following positions are occupied by manufacturing industry (9.5 percent), construction (9.2 percent), state administration (6.8 percent), information and communication (6.5 percent), transport and warehousing (6.4 percent), education (5.2 percent)," the report reads.
