The Nominal Gross Domestic Product (GDP) amounted to GEL 71 754.2 million in 2022, up by 19.6 percent y-o-y, while the real growth of GDP increased by 10.1%. In 2022 GDP deflator percentage change equalled 8.6% y-o-y, - the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat) reported.
The largest shares of GDP by activity are held by Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (15.2%) and Manufacturing (11.1%), followed by Real estate activities (9.9%), Construction (8.0%), Agriculture, forestry and fishing (7.0%), Transportation and storage (6.5%), Public administration and defence; compulsory social security (6.4%), Financial and insurance activities (4.9%), Information and communication (4.7%).
Real growth was registered in Transportation and storage (28.4%), Information and communication (49.9%), Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (38.9%), Construction (14.8%), Wholesale and retail trade; repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles (6.1%), Manufacturing (7.8%), Arts, entertainment and recreation (17.3%), Accommodation and food service activities (16.7%), Mining and quarrying (22.8%).
A decrease in the real value-added was recorded in Real estate activities (-4.8%), Human health and social work activities (-5.7%), and professional, scientific and technical activities (-2.4%).
