The state budget has allocated GEL 1.1 million to rehabilitate the bridge over the Meria River on the Ozurgeti-Natanebi-Ureki road at kilometer 9. According to the Roads Department, rehabilitation works are nearing completion.
The existing single-span bridge, measuring 23.1 meters in length, was in unsatisfactory technical condition and required renovation.
The project has improved the bridge’s technical specifications, including its load-bearing capacity and span length to ensure smoother water flow. The bridge piers and regulation walls have also been built on pile foundations.
