A tender worth GEL 15.047 million for the construction of a new passenger terminal at Mestia’s Queen Tamar Airport ended unsuccessfully on September 30, with no companies submitting bids.
The tender, announced by United Airports of Georgia, received no applications during the September 25-30 submission period. The project envisaged a new 950-square-meter terminal equipped with modern facade and glazing systems.
The terminal was planned to include waiting and check-in areas, departure and arrival halls, baggage collection and handling zones, a security screening area and office space. The project also included landscaping of a 11,600-square-meter area, including parking facilities. The architectural concept was developed by Green Studio.
Tender requirements included at least GEL 26 million worth of construction work completed since January 1, 2022, as well as experience building at least one similar project worth GEL 10 million or two projects with a combined value of GEL 16 million. It is not yet known when United Airports of Georgia will relaunch the tender or whether the requirements will be changed.
