The Government of Georgia has approved the allocation of 186,000 GEL from the Government Reserve Fund to the National Academy of Sciences.
According to the official decree, the funding will be directed toward raising the salaries of full members (academicians), corresponding members, and fellows of the Academy. The salary increases officially took effect on September 1.
The decision follows recent amendments to the Law on the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia, adopted earlier this year by Parliament, which established the legal basis for adjusting remuneration within the institution.
The government notes that the allocation aims to strengthen the role of the Academy in the country’s scientific development and ensure fair compensation for its members.
