The Government of Georgia announced a tender for the construction of a new four-lane highway in Kakheti within the framework of the loan agreement signed with the World Bank.
The international tender worth GEL 294.7 million was published on the website of the State Procurement Agency. This will be the fourth section of the new Kakheti highway. The estimated cost of construction of one kilometer on this section is GEL 17.35 million.
According to the tender conditions, interested companies should submit their proposals to the Department of Highways by August 31.
In accordance with the requirements of the World Bank, the company participating in the tender must have an annual turnover of at least USD 80 million and liquid funds of at least USD 10 million in the last 5 years.
The Georgian government presented the project for the construction of a new highway in the direction of Kakheti in summer of 2021. The government announced three tenders for the construction of the 35.2 km section in Sagarejo. These tenders finished at the end of last year and GEL 537.8 million contracts were signed with the winning companies.
A total of 52.2 km of the new highway will be built in Kakheti, the total cost of which will be GEL 832.5 million.
