A GEL 6.7 million tender announced by Tbilisi City Hall for the rehabilitation of part of Agmashenebeli Avenue has failed due to a lack of bidders. The tender covered the section from Tamar Mepe Avenue to St. Petersburg Street, near Marjanishvili Metro Station.
The estimated cost was GEL 6.7 million, financed from Tbilisi’s 2026 budget. The first phase covers a 1.16-kilometer section, while a second phase is planned from St. Petersburg Street to Anzor Erkomaishvili Street.
The project includes road and sidewalk rehabilitation, repairs to courtyard entrances and drainage wells, as well as new drainage infrastructure. Existing sidewalk tiles will be preserved and reused where possible, while damaged sections will be replaced with similar materials.
The works also include new road signs and markings. The planned completion period is 30 calendar days from the written instruction to begin works. Construction must be carried out in stages to maintain uninterrupted traffic along the avenue.
