The Georgian Competition and Consumer Protection Agency (GCCA) and the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) have initiated a collaborative partnership to improve consumer rights protection effectiveness and strengthen international cooperation in Georgia.
Under the mentorship program of the International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network (ICPEN), the first joint online working session was held on February 20, 2025, involving representatives from GCCA’s Consumer Rights Protection Department and UOKiK. The training primarily focused on evidence-gathering tools used during case investigations. This educational initiative is expected to significantly enhance the qualifications of GCCA staff members, which, in turn, will ensure more effective detection of violations and higher quality enforcement of consumer protection legislation.
Throughout the current year, the partnership plans to deliver specialized training sessions and seminars for GCCA staff, provide consultations with Polish experts during case reviews, organize study visits, and conduct other joint activities.
