Georgia-Azerbaijan Joint Tours - A New Strategy To Attract More Tourists

The State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan organized a meeting in Georgia, where combined tours, products and plans for long-distance travelers between these countries were discussed.

As part of the recently launched Azerbaijan-Georgia Combined Travel Project, travelers from the target countries, including China, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, the United States, Canada, and some European countries, will travel to Georgia and Azerbaijan through special combined tours.

"Azerbaijan is one of our strategic partners and we have quite productive cooperation in the development of tourism. The new initiative serves the purpose of encouraging more countries and attracting more tourists to both countries,” said Tamar Koriauli, Acting First Deputy Head of the National Tourism Administration.

Along with the event, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Mariam Kvrivishvili met with Kanan Guluzade, Advisor to the Chairman of the State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan, to discuss the potential of developing combined tours as a viable experience.

"We talked about the challenges posed by the Covid-19 Pandemic this year, which will affect the tourism and aviation sectors. The main purpose of the meeting was to make joint efforts to attract more tourists from our strategic target countries to our region to strengthen tourism and aviation sector of each country, "- said Mariam Kvrivishvili.
