Georgia Bought $ 9.3 Million Worth of Coffee in 7 Months

In January-July, 3,375.3 tons of roasted or unroasted coffee worth $ 9.3 million was imported to Georgia.

According to official statistics, the value of imported coffee during this period increased by almost 6% (7 months of 2020 - $ 8.8 million), while the quantity of coffee imports decreased by 3.2% (7 months of 2020 - 3,490.08 tons).

Geostat data show that the main market where we buy coffee is Indonesia. The list of TOP-10 importing countries is as follows:
 
1. Indonesia - $ 3.2 million, 1.7 tons;
2. Russia - 1.2 million dollars, 303.6 tons;
3. Vietnam - 1.1 million dollars, 614.2 tons;
4. Italy - $ 1.0 million, 115.2 tons;
5. Germany - 803.2 thousand dollars, 140 tons;
6. France - 392.3 thousand dollars, 44.3 tons;
7. Armenia - 339.1 thousand dollars, 109.4 tons;
8. Turkey - 277.6 thousand dollars, 45.7 tons;
9. Netherlands - 156.1 thousand dollars, 27.5 tons;
10. Uganda - 127.2 thousand dollars, 76.8 tons.
 
In addition to these countries, Georgia imports coffee from Austria, Brazil, Bulgaria, Cameroon, India, Spain, Switzerland, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Poland and to a lesser extent Belarus, Portugal, Hungary, Ukraine, the Czech Republic, China, Ireland and others.
 
Exports of roasted or unroasted coffee from Georgia are small and 86.5 tons of coffee worth 242.3 thousand dollars were exported in the first 7 months of this year. The main export countries were Armenia (138.7 thousand dollars, 70.8 tons) and Russia (73.9 thousand dollars, 11.2 tons).
