Georgia has developed very close, friendly, and strategic relations with China, reflected in the signing of a strategic partnership agreement, Economy and Sustainable Development Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili said.

According to the minister, the partnership between Georgia and China has already produced tangible results by strengthening trade and economic ties across virtually all sectors, including trade, transport, logistics, tourism, and other areas of cooperation.

Kvrivishvili also expressed optimism about China’s potential involvement in the Anaklia Deep Sea Port project alongside Georgia’s other strategic partners and friendly countries.

“We remain highly optimistic and hope to see the Chinese side participate as a partner in the Anaklia Deep Sea Port together with our other strategic partners and friendly states. This would be the most appropriate policy, whereby Georgia ensures that the port remains Georgian, while having operators from multiple countries or private companies from various states as partners. These partners would help bring cargo to the port, develop the terminal infrastructure, and subsequently operate it,” Kvrivishvili said.
