Along with the increase in the number of cold storage facilities, the volume of products stored in them also grew. According to Geostat data, a total of 119.4 thousand tons of products were stored in cold storage facilities in Q2 2026, compared to 90.7 thousand tons in Q2 2025. Consequently, the increase amounted to 28.7 thousand tons (31.6%).

The sales value of cold storage facilities increased significantly. In Q2 2026, cold storage facilities sold products worth 302.0 million GEL, whereas in the corresponding period of 2025, the sales value stood at 189.5 million GEL. This represents an annual increase of 112.5 million GEL (59.4%).
The physical volume of sold products also grew: in Q2 2026, cold storage facilities sold 32.1 thousand tons of products, up from 24.7 thousand tons in Q2 2025—an increase of 7.4 thousand tons (approximately 30.0%).

Revenue earned by cold storage facilities for providing storage services amounted to 7.8 million GEL. However, the number of service clients decreased year-on-year: services were provided to 361 clients in Q2 2026, compared to 399 in Q2 2025, marking a decline of approximately 9.5%.
Employment and Exports
Employment: The average monthly number of employees in cold storage facilities grew from 1,508 to 1,698 people, an increase of approximately 12.6%.
Exports: The value of products sold abroad by cold storage facilities in Q2 2026 was 3.8 million GEL, down from 7.4 million GEL in Q2 2025. This represents an annual export value drop of approximately 3.6 million GEL (48.6%). Exported goods consisted primarily of fruits and vegetables. In Q2 2026, products sold abroad accounted for 1.2% of the total sales value of cold storage facilities.
