Georgia Collected GEL 11.2 BLN in Tax Revenue in 1H26, Exceeding Target

Georgia collected GEL 11.2 billion in tax revenue during the first six months of 2026, fulfilling 101.3% of its budget target, according to the Ministry of Finance's Treasury Service.

Tax collections by category were as follows:

  • Personal income tax: GEL 4.1 billion (102.4% of target)
  • Value-added tax (VAT): GEL 4.1 billion (101.6%)
  • Corporate profit tax: GEL 1.8 billion (108.9%)
  • Excise tax: GEL 1.2 billion (100.4%)
  • Import tax: GEL 80 million (110.8%)

An additional GEL 143 million was collected under the category of "other taxes," a residual classification used for tax revenues that do not fit standard international Government Finance Statistics (GFS) categories.

Overall, state budget revenues reached GEL 12.5 billion in January–June, or 103% of the planned amount.

The Treasury also reported GEL 171 million in grant income, equal to 90% of the target, while borrowing totaled GEL 2.7 billion, or 102.3% of plan. Domestic borrowing exceeded expectations at 124.2% of target, while external borrowing reached GEL 1.7 billion, or 92.4% of the planned level.
