Georgia’s Treasury has published the Finance Ministry’s operational report on the 2026 budget, showing that the government collected GEL 15.4 billion in taxes during January–August. This represents 90.5% of the nine-month target. Tax collection was highest for profit tax, at 97.8% of the target, while value-added tax collection stood at 90.1%.

Among other revenue sources, dividends were the largest contributor, totaling GEL 571 million, or 127% of the planned amount. Most of this came from dividends paid by the National Bank. Interest earned on the government’s deposits with commercial banks amounted to GEL 221 million, reaching 109% of the target.

Privatization revenue stood at GEL 117 million, equivalent to 82% of the planned figure. The figures show that several non-tax revenue sources have also contributed significantly to budget execution during the first eight months of the year.

The government additionally raised GEL 3.07 billion through borrowing, achieving 85% of the planned amount. Of this, GEL 1.26 billion came from domestic securities, including treasury bills and treasury bonds, representing 91% of the target. External borrowing generated GEL 1.8 billion, or 81.5% of the planned amount.
