Georgia generated $111.44 million in gold export revenue in January–September 2026, up by 28.9% year-on-year, despite a decline of approximately 600 kilograms in export volumes to around one tonne. According to Geostat, rising global gold prices drove the increase in export value.
Switzerland was the main destination for Georgian gold, receiving approximately 900 kilograms worth $100.05 million. The United Arab Emirates ranked second with $8.67 million in exports, followed by Turkey ($1.81 million), Hong Kong ($873,800) and Kuwait ($13,500).
Gold imports also increased significantly, reaching $4.28 million in the first nine months of 2026, compared to just $6,600 in the same period of 2025. Germany was the largest supplier, accounting for $3.75 million, followed by the Netherlands with $336,900.
Overall, Georgia's gold export revenue was approximately 26 times higher than its import value during the reporting period.
