Georgia imported GEL 86 million worth of baby food products in 2025, according to the Competition and Consumer Protection Agency. The agency’s investigation found that 11 companies were active across each major segment of the baby food market.
The largest category was infant formula (0–12 months), with a total market value of GEL 40.7 million and an HHI concentration index of 1383.45, indicating a moderately concentrated market.
The segment for milk products for children aged 1–3 reached GEL 17.8 million, with a higher HHI index of 1893.41, suggesting increasing market concentration.
Cereal products, including milk-based and milk-free porridges, accounted for GEL 13.8 million, while ready-to-eat baby food—such as purées, yogurts and puddings—amounted to GEL 13.55 million. These segments had HHI scores of 1985.65 and 1702.8, respectively, both falling within the moderately concentrated band.
Overall, the data shows a stable but concentrated baby food market with consistent participation from 11 economic operators across all categories.
