Georgia imported $201.1 million worth of telephone and data transmission equipment in the first eight months of 2026, down by 0.7% year-on-year. The category accounted for 1.6% of total imports, ranking sixth among Georgia’s main imported goods.
The decline was mainly driven by lower imports from the United Arab Emirates, China and the Netherlands. The UAE remained the largest source, with imports worth $81.3 million, followed by the Czech Republic at $37.7 million and Hong Kong at $23.2 million.
Vietnam ranked fourth with $20.3 million in imports, followed by China at $15.7 million and the Netherlands at $6.4 million. Sweden accounted for $5.9 million, while imports from Spain totaled $1.7 million.
Germany and Bulgaria rounded out the top 10, with imports worth $1.2 million and $845,000, respectively. Overall, telephone and data transmission equipment remained one of Georgia’s largest import categories during the January-August period.
