Georgia is in talks with Alshaya Group over the potential entry of international fashion retailer Primark, according to Mikheil Khidureli, head of the country's Investment Agency.

Speaking at the official opening of the first Starbucks in Georgia, Khidureli said cooperation with Alshaya Group extends beyond Starbucks, as the Kuwaiti franchise operator manages more than 70 international brands, including H&M and Victoria's Secret.

"We are not limiting our cooperation to Starbucks. We are also discussing other major brands, including Primark," Khidureli said, without providing details on the stage of negotiations or a possible timeline for the retailer's entry into the Georgian market.

Alshaya Group operates more than 4,000 stores across 16 countries, employs over 40,000 people, and has been present in Georgia through its local subsidiary since 2018.
