Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, His Holiness and Beatitude, Ilia II echoed the latest developments in the country and said that no national goals would be achieved with hatred that “harmed selves and the state.”
According to Ilia II, everyone should care for peace, distance from violence and acknowledge that tense situation harms the state and its sovereignty.
In a statement published on the website of the Georgian Orthodox Church (GOC), the Georgian Patriarch called for a “constructive dialogue” to “prevent unruly processes.”
“Georgia is an indivisible part of the European civilization and we must promote the strengthening and development of a European-type national state based on our centuries-old Christian spiritual and cultural heritage and traditional values,” he said.
