Georgia is committed to European integration, we are consistently approaching the European Union and we are optimistic that Georgia will succeed on this path, - Georgian Foreign Minister Ilia Darchiashvili told reporters in Berlin, where he is participating in a conference at the invitation of his German counterpart.
According to him, Georgia has been implementing the agenda of ambitious reforms in all directions for years, and valuable and important work has been done in the direction of the implementation of the 12 points of the European Commission.
"Today there are tangible results and all the grounds for Georgia to receive the candidate status", the Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized.
According to Ilia Darchiashvili, Georgia actively works both with the European Union, in a bilateral format, and with EU member and partner countries, and is ready to move to a new stage of relations with the European Union.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs thanked his German counterpart for talking about Georgia's European future. According to him, it is important that the importance of the enlargement package and the role of the European Union in the direction of Eastern European integration were discussed at the conference.
