Commenting on the statement made in support for Georgia by the UK Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt, and during the hearing at the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, David Zalkaliani said that Georgia is placed high on the international agenda.
“The fact that German Chancellor Angela Merkel' plans a visit to Georgia, the UK Foreign Secretary highlights the situation in Georgia and its occupied territories during his visit to the U.S., and the U.S. Senators, including Wess Mitchell and other high-ranking officials make important references to Georgia during the hearing at the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee provides a clear proof that Georgia is high on the international agenda” – Zalkaliani said.
According to the Minister this can be seen as a clear counter-reply to the criticism of the opponents claiming that Georgia is allegedly absent from the international agenda.
