The agreement between Georgia and Poland on the Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Taxes Evasion has entered into force.
According to Georgia’s Ministry of Finance, the two countries inked a new tax treaty on July 7, 2021. It replaces the 2006 agreement between the two countries.
“The new document is based on the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development’s (OECD) updated 2017 model and incorporated the standards established by the Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) project. The withholding tax rates for dividends, interest, and royalties decrease to 5% as part of an agreement,” Georgia’s Finance Ministry reported.
