In 2024, Georgia produced 236 million liters of wine (approximately 2.4 million hectoliters), according to Georgian statistics published on the website of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV). Of this amount, the country consumed nearly 120 million liters (1.2 million hectoliters).
The OIV reports that Georgia’s wine production increased by 26.6% year-on-year, making it the 16th largest wine producer globally. Furthermore, the 2024 output surpassed the country's five-year average by 19.7%, marking the highest level of wine production since the beginning of the 21st century. According to the OIV, "The increase in production is due to favorable weather conditions in the main wine regions."

Vineyards in Georgia covered 48,700 hectares in 2024, reflecting a 0.4% annual increase. With this figure, Georgia ranks 26th globally in terms of vineyard area.
Wine consumption in Georgia also saw a significant rise. According to the OIV, consumption increased by 28.2% in 2024, reaching 119.9 million liters (1.2 million hectoliters), placing Georgia 29th in the world.
On a per capita basis, the average Georgian aged 15 or older consumed 39.9 liters of wine in 2024. Georgia accounts for approximately 0.6% of total global wine consumption.
