Georgia has exported 25.3 tonnes of peaches and nectarines worth $21.3 million from May 1 to October 4 which is two times more than in the same period of last year, announces the Ministry of Agriculture of Georgia.
Meanwhile, the value of exports has increased by $8.8 million.
Georgian peaches and nectarines were mainly exported to:Russia - 16,769 tonnes, Armenia - 7,510 tonnes, Azerbaijan - 567 tonnes.
In addition, the export of Georgian peaches and nectarines was made to Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Poland, Moldova, Slovenia, Singapore and Qatar.
Last year Georgia exported 13,256 peaches and nectarines in the following countries: Russia - 10,777 tonnes, Armenia - 1,373 tonnes, Azerbaijan - 667 tonnes, Ukraine - 150 tonnes, Kazakhstan - 114 tonnes, Slovenia - 78 tonnes, Iraq - 39 tonnes, Iran - 20 tonnes, Moldova - 19 tonnes, Belarus - 18 tonnes, Qatar - 0.4 tonnes.
There are 11 fruit processing factories operating in Georgia with the co-financing of the Ministry of Agriculture.
