During the seven months of the current year, imports of cars to Georgia increased by 95.9% and exceeded $1.6 billion, according to the National Statistics Office of Georgia.

The growth rates of re-exports was also high. In January-July, cars worth $1.178 billion were re-exported from Georgia. A total of 60,475 cars passed through Georgia to third countries. The increase in car exports is 217%. 32.9% of all exports are accounted for by the re-export of cars.

Kyrgyzstan is the largest export market for auto dealers from Georgia. In this Central Asian country, which, in turn, is one of the poorest post-Soviet countries (GDP per capita - $ 1,100), cars were sold for almost $ 300 million, a total of 7,410 units. This means that the average price of cars exported from Georgia to Kyrgyzstan is one of the highest and reaches 40.5 thousand USD.

Kyrgyzstan has seen a significant increase in imports and exports in recent months. The Washington Post wrote in July that the U.S. could impose sanctions on Kyrgyzstan for helping Russia evade sanctions.

Car exporters in Georgia say the growth in Central Asian countries was due to the fact that deliveries to these countries from Russia were suspended, so the alternative for them was to receive cars through Georgia.
