As of today, 4 673 new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed within the last 24 hours. It was announced by Berdia Sichinava, Deputy Head of the Task Force operating at the Inter-Agency Coordination Council at a press-briefing held today at the Government Administration.
He spoke about the most recent statistics related to COVID-19 in Georgia.
“Within the scope of intensive testing 16 646 tests have been performed within the last 24 hours, out of which 11 400 were antigen-based and 5 246 PCR.
As of today, 4 673 new cases of COVID-19 are confirmed within the last 24 hours. Since the detection of the first case, 169 649 cases have been proven test-positive so far in Georgia.
3 893 individuals have recovered within the last 24 hours, thus making the total number of recoveries reach 141 392.
Unfortunately, 36 new fatal cases have occurred within the last 24 hours. Since February 26 the total death toll has reached 1 576.
Out of 4 673 new cases detected today, geographic coverage of COVID-19 is as follows: 1 729 cases have been detected in Tbilisi, 339 – in Adjara, 673 – in Imereti, 419 – in Kvemo Kartli, 354 – in Shida Kartli, 126 – in Guria, 388 – in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, 384 – in Kakheti, 109 – in Mtskheta-Mtianeti, 111 – in Samtskhe-Javakheti and 41 – in Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti.
At present, active cases of COVID-19 have reached 26 655, out of which 6 829 individuals are treated at hospitals, out of which 2 963 are stationed in Tbilisi, 1 015 – in Adjara and 1 332 – in Imereti. Acute health conditions are observed in the case of 1 123 patients, out of which 511are based in Tbilisi, 158 – in Adjara and 257 – in Imereti. Lung ventilators are used in the case of 425 patients, out of which 212 are stationed in Tbilisi, 51 – in Adjara and 48 – in Imereti. 3 759 individuals are placed at COVID Hotels, out of which 1 187are based in Tbilisi, 1 858 – in Adjara and 409 – in Imereti. 16 067 individuals are treated at home.
1 186 individuals are placed in quarantine, out of which 338 are located in Tbilisi, 213 – in Adjara and 27 – in Imereti.
In total, 20 064 individuals have been transported from the sovereign border to quarantine spaces in the period of October 6 through December 7, 2020.
At present, 51 709 individuals are in self-isolation, out of which 20 017 are based in Tbilisi, 10 771 – in Adjara and 5 572 – in Imereti” announced Berdia Sichinava.
