A new strategy will be developed to strengthen the road maintenance system in Georgia, for which the Roads Department has announced an international tender.
Part of the financing for the procurement will come from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), which is funding the improvement of the Shorapani–Argveta section of Georgia’s East–West Highway.
According to the Roads Department, the selected consultancy group must first carry out road monitoring, after which it will develop a maintenance strategy, guiding principles, and all relevant documents to ensure sustainable and cost-effective road asset management that meets the needs of road users.'
The consultancy group will have 12 months to prepare the documents. The estimated value of the procurement is USD 882,750.
