Georgia expects to harvest 3,300-3,400 tons of walnuts this year. Ana Kevkhishvili, co-founder of company Anigozi, announced this on the air of TV-porgram "Women's Narrative".
"Walnut harvesting is not over yet and the volume is increasing year-on-year. Although we do not have exact information, our expectation is 3,300-3,400 tons of walnuts", Ana Kevkhishvili says.
According to her, the 2,000 tons of walnut harvested by the country were fully sold in the local market.
"We try to compete with imported walnuts as much as possible, however, due to the cost of imported products, it is difficult for us. We can safely say that the imported product, both in terms of quality and taste, is not even close to the Georgian one" - Ana Kevkhishvili points out.
According to the founder of "Anigozi", this year will local walnuts will replace a certain amount of imported products.
