Development of the transportation corridor and enhancing competitiveness were the key topics of Tuesday’s trilateral meeting in Tbilisi.
Georgian Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili, Turkey’s Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Adil Karaismailoğlu, and Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rashad Nabiyev, gathered at the ministerial meeting in Tbilisi.
The meeting participants stressed that transport, the so-called Middle Corridor, connecting Asia and Europe is gaining significance. It becomes one of the most attractive routes linking the East with the West.
“We set the ways to speed up the cargo turnover that will allow us to transport more cargo using the infrastructure of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey to create a real alternative to the current transit-transport routes,” Levan Davitashvili said.
Three ministers stressed that more transport corridors would enhance friendly relations between Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey. They agreed to complete the new railway project of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars in a due timeframe.
