Trade turover between the United Kingdom and Georgia increased by 4.9% to USD 104.9 million in 8M2024.
Of which, exports made up USD 10.3 million, up by 40.9% compared to the same period last year.
TOP-5 exporting products:
1. Ferroalloys - $3.4 million;
2. Women's suits, sets, overalls, breeches and shorts, - $1.4 million;
3. Wine - $958.7 thousand;
4. Manganese oxides - $702.5 thousand;
5. T-shirts, warm coats and other knitted products - 642.4 thousand.
Imports amounted to USD 94.5 million in 8 months, which was a 2.1% increase compared to the same period last year.
TOP-5 importing products:
1. Cars - $18 million;
2. Bulldozers, motor graders, excavators, compactors and others - $12.8 million;
3. Alcoholic beverages - $6.6 million;
4. Mixtures used in the production of beverages - $6.3 million;
5. Second-hand car parts - $4 million.
FDI
The UK ranks first in Georgia in terms of direct foreign investments. In 2Q2024, the volume of direct foreign investments in Georgia reached USD 574.3 million. Of which the United Kingdom is in first place with USD 266.7 million.
As for last year, in 2023, the largest share of direct foreign investments – 392 million USD came to the United Kingdom.
Remittances
In September 2024, USD 4.8 million were transferred from Great Britain to Georgia. During 9 months,transfers made up USD 35.8 million, which was 0.8% less than the indicator of the same period last year.
Last year, USD 46.2 million were transferred from Great Britain.
Tourism
In 3Q2023, 25,431 visits were made from Great Britain to Georgia, which was 12.5% more than the figure of the same period last year.
