Georgia will never allow the passage of sanctioned cargo, - Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili told reporters, responding to the information spread by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine regarding Russia creating smuggling channels in Georgia.
As the Prime Minister noted, the Georgian Government exchanges any information with foreign partners and there should be no question about such issues.
"It is clear that this was a politically motivated statement, no evidence, no facts were presented, and of course, it is unfortunate. I wish Ukraine and the Ukrainians an end to the war very soon, an end to this devastating war, which is a great challenge not only for Ukraine, but for us, for the whole region, for Europe and for the world.
Competent answers were given to this question from various agencies, a number of statements and explanations were made. I would like to state unequivocally that Georgia will never allow the passage of sanctioned cargo, moreover, it is absurd to accuse the Government of being involved in this. We will not allow any sanctioned goods to be transferred using our territories - this is a clear, unequivocal position.
We are in full coordination with foreign partners, friends. We exchange any information related to such sensitive issues in a live regime and I think there should be no question about it," Irakli Gharibashvili said.
