Georgia will raise the minimum gambling age to 25, including slot clubs. Control over enforcement of regulations will be tightened as much as possible, - the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili told the Public Broadcaster.

Several days ago, the Prime Minister announced that the government was primarily thinking of increasing taxes for online gambling, banning advertising and raising the threshold to 25 years.

Asked by a journalist from the Public Broadcaster, whether it is planned to take out the so-called land casinos or localize them in one specific place, the Prime Minister answered that the government does not have such a plan.

"The government does not plan to take out the so-called Land Casinos or introduce any additional prohibitive regulations. The decision we have made at this stage will only apply to online gambling. Land casinos are mainly visited by foreign tourists, visitors and therefore we do not plan any restrictions. We are not talking about Land Casinos, it is about online casinos, this is the main problem. Young people, especially the socially vulnerable, will not be able to enter the casino with GEL 2-3 and there is no such problem," said the Prime Minister.
