Aqua Geo, the producer of mineral and fresh waters "Sno" and "Kobi" on the Georgian market, was able to restore the export market of Ukraine. The company updated contracts with several partners in Ukraine, Zurab Gozalishvili CEO at Aqua Geo tells bm.ge.
“Due to the hostilities, it will not be possible to fully acquire this market at this stage. At present, several trucks are consistently entering the Ukrainian market on the monthly basis. We lost 70% of the planned income in Ukraine during the year. As for Russia, the loss is 30%,” Gozalishvili says.
According to the businessman, based on the current situation, markets diversification is on the agenda of the company. Works are progressing for entering European, as well as Chinese and Bahraini markets.
According to the National Statistics Office of Georgia (GeoStat), in January-August 2022, the export of mineral and fresh water decreased by 27.8% annually, and the country earned $66.7 million in income. In the top ten export commodities, mineral and fresh water ranked 9th with a share of 1.9%, down from 6th place from the prior year, when the share in total exports was 3.5%.
