Georgian dumplings brand NAMU, which has been successfully operating in the U.S. market for the past year, is set to enter major national supermarket chains, including Walmart, Target, Kroger, and Publix, starting from the second half of 2026.
Co-founder Levan Kakhadze told BM.GE that demand for Georgian dumplings in the U.S. has far exceeded expectations, prompting the company to expand its logistics on both the East and West Coasts.
“The numbers are confidential, but the interest in our product is very high. As a result, we had to establish additional logistics chains. Serious work has already begun to enter national chains, where khinkali is currently unavailable,” said Kakhadze.
NAMU was established with an investment of several hundred thousand dollars and partners with Kartveli. This Georgian semi-finished food manufacturer has distributed khinkali and khachapuri across all 50 U.S. states for the past five years.
The brand is also co-founded by Georgian UFC champion Merab Dvalishvili, who actively promotes the project.
“Merab is our official partner, and now our main focus is introducing khinkali not only to Georgian consumers abroad but also to American audiences,” Kakhadze added.
Currently, NAMU operates on an e-commerce model, with products available on EatNamu.com, where a 12-piece pack of dumplings costs USD 39.99 and is delivered within 2–3 days. However, the company says that entering retail chains will make the product more accessible and affordable, as in-store logistics are significantly cheaper than home delivery.
NAMU employs around 15 people and is already working on expanding its product line, new offerings such as khachapuri, mushroom khinkali, and beef-only khinkali are set to launch soon.
