The volume of loans issued by commercial banks (excluding interbank loans) in December 2024 increased by 1.64 billion GEL or by 2.70% compared to the previous month (exchange rate effect excluded, increased by 2.43%) and constituted 62.23 billion GEL by the end of December 2024, - according to the report published by the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
The volume of loans in national currency increased by 605.28 milion GEL (1.75%) and the volume of loans in foreign currency increased by 1.03 billion GEL or by 3.98% in the same period (exchange rate effect excluded, increased by 3.35%).
By the end of December 2024, the total volume of national currency denominated loans to resident legal entities issued by commercial banks amounted to 10.73 billion GEL (1.85% more compared to the previous month), and foreign currency denominated loans constituted 17.71 billion GEL (4.82% more; exchange rate effect excluded volume of lending in foreign currency increased by 4.16 %).
During December 2024, the volume of lending to resident household sector increased by 1.54% or 481.76 milion GEL, and constituted 31.73 billion GEL by the end of December 2024.
Larization ratio for total loans constituted 56.68% by the end of December 2024 and decreased by 0.533 percentage point (exchange rate effect excluded, decreased by 0.38 percentage point), compared to the end of November 2024.
