"Georgian confectionery has great potential to replace Russian-Ukrainian products," said Saba Mamaladze, head of sales at Sandomi.

As he noted, the war in Ukraine has radically changed the situation in their sector, the Georgian market is trying to offset the lack with local production. That is why the shortage of sweets from both Russia and Ukraine has increased their productivity and sales.

"Imports from Ukraine have been suspended due to the war, and transactions from Russia have become complicated. Therefore, there is a shortage of confectionery products from these two countries on the Georgian market. We are now filling the deficit in stores now. Our sales increased by about 30-40% in this April compared to the same period of the last year.

Sales have doubled over the same period this year compared to last year. Georgian companies have the opportunity to ensure that consumers do not have a shortage of confectionery on the shelves. Georgian confectionery has great potential to replace Russian-Ukrainian products," Saba Mamaladze explained.
