Georgian Dairy Products To Open Cheese Factory With Investment Of USD 0.5 MLN

LLC Georgian Dairy Products plans to open a cheese factory with an investment of USD 0.5 million by the end of 2022. The enterprise will be located in Ponichala on 500 square meters.

"At this stage, we produce sour cream, milk and sulguni, but by the end of the year we plan to open a separate cheese factory on the territory of the existing enterprise, in which we will invest our own funds, as well as we will use various finances. We are talking about USD 0.5 million. The enterprise will produce several types of Georgian cheese, such as Sulguni, Imeruli cheese, factory cheese, aged cheese, etc. We are talking about producing of over 3-4 tons of cheese a day," Giorgi Liparteliani, the founder of Georgian Dairy Products, told BM.ge.

According to him, the company's productivity and sales increased 4 folds in the last 3 years, which means processing 30-40 tons of milk per day.

"Depending on the season, the monthly turnover is from GEL 2.5 to 3 million. In 2022, we expect the annual turnover to be GEL 36 million," - said Giorgi Liparteliani.

The company imports 90% of raw milk, only 10% accounts for the raw milk supplied by local farmers. Raw materials are mainly imported from Belarus and various European countries.

"Georgian Dairy Products" has been operating on the Georgian market since 2006, which initially has represented under the name of "Natural Plus", then the company was rebranded several times. Currently, the products are sold on the market under the brands of "Rdzisame" and "Svanuri".
