Local company Green Bumbo, located in the village of Supsa, Lanchkhuti Municipality, will export Georgian essential oils to Europe.
Doka Baghaturia, Commercial Director of the company declares that their main export markets are neighboring countries, but after obtaining ISO certification, the company plans to expand its markets throughout Europe.
Green Bumbo currently produces 3 types of essential oils, and plans to start producing citrus essential oils in summer. The company's capacity is 500-600 liters and the main part of the product is export-oriented.
“We are not focused on quantity, the company is orientated on high quality production. Fortunately, there are cultural, natural plants in Georgia from which natural and high-grade essential oils are obtained. The samples sent to various laboratories from Green Bumbo were positively evaluated and we have started working on obtaining ISO certification for this stage. We have passed the ISO certification audit and our essential oils fully meet the requirements of European standards. We are waiting for the conclusion according to which our enterprise will get the ISO certificate.
Now, we sell the products in the Georgian market, and we also export essential oils in Russia, Ukraine and Armenia, but we have demand from Germany, the United States and Canada," said Doka Baghaturia.
According to the Commercial Director of the company, price of essential oils in the local market is GEL 15, while its cost on the export markets is USD 7-8 on 10 mg pack.
In the village of Supsa, Lanchkhuti Municipality, the essential oil company Green Bumbo is operating from 2018 with the support of USAID. USD 234,000 was invested in the launch of the company. The enterprise currently produces 3 types of essential oils, but it has a resource to produce 14 types of essential oils. The company employs 10 people.
