Georgian Fashion Brand “Molmauni” Secures Its Place on the International Market

Molmauni

Georgian designer Teo Kobalia’s brand Molmauni is rapidly gaining recognition on the international fashion market. Named after the Megrelian word for “follow me,” the brand symbolically reflects the designer’s journey from displacement in Abkhazia to establishing a growing presence in global fashion. As Kobalia shared on BMGTV’s Women’s Narrative, her creative vision is rooted in personal experience, blending Victorian elegance with the strength and softness of the modern woman.

Kobalia explains that the origins of her brand trace back to childhood, when limited resources during displacement led her family to create unique, handmade clothing. Those early experiences shaped her sense of individuality and later became the foundation of Molmauni’s distinct identity. “Molmauni is not just a brand, it is a collection of ideas shaped by people’s emotions and reactions,” she notes.

A major breakthrough came when Molmauni showcased its collection at Paris Fashion Week alongside internationally renowned brands. Kobalia describes the experience as both a professional milestone and a moment of validation: audience feedback aligned perfectly with the concepts she embedded in each design, signaling strong resonance with the brand’s aesthetic.

Today, Molmauni is represented in prominent exhibition spaces in the United States, with growing interest from industry professionals and public figures choosing the brand for photo shoots and special events. International expansion remains a top priority, with Europe and Paris in particular, positioned as the next key market.

“The global stage is my biggest challenge right now, but we already have several offers. Step by step, Molmauni will continue to grow,” Kobalia says.
