Georgian fashion brand Smaki has been invited to Coterie New York, one of the world's leading B2B fashion trade shows, becoming the only Georgian fashion brand selected to participate. Creative Director Maia Siradze said the invitation came directly from the event's organizers, who discovered the brand and were drawn to its fusion of contemporary fashion and art.
The exhibition will take place in New York on September 9–11, bringing together international buyers and boutiques looking for new brands. In addition to Coterie, Smaki will also participate in another New York fashion show in September organized by GeoInStyle, a partner that previously helped the brand enter the U.S. market through events including New York Fashion Week and fashion weeks in Denver and Carolina.
Founded eight years ago, Smaki specializes in handcrafted, exclusive collections and has built an international customer base through online sales. Before the pandemic, the brand supplied boutiques in Berlin, and today ships its products to customers across all continents.
Siradze said the brand is fully prepared to expand production if interest from U.S. buyers increases, despite challenges such as sourcing fabrics locally. She added that participating in global B2B platforms is an important step not only for Smaki's growth but also for raising the international profile of Georgia's fashion industry.
