Following the ministerial appointments under Georgia’s newly approved Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze on Friday, the Georgian government will have three Vice PMs.

According to Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, the authority of the First Vice Prime Minister will be assigned to the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili. Irakli Kobakhidze announced the above at the first meeting of the government under his leadership and also named two Vice Prime Ministers.

"The first session of the government with the new composition is being held today. I want to wish you all good luck. During the previous years, a lot was done with the participation of each of you for the development of our country, and for that I want to thank you once again. Also, I would like to once again thank Mr. Irakli Gharibashvili for leading the government for 3 years and for doing a lot of things for our country.

I would like to introduce some personnel decisions to the public. It is already known that the authority of the First Vice Prime Minister will be assigned to the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, Levan Davitashvili. I want to wish him success. The Minister of Culture and Sports, Tea Tsulukiani, will be the Vice Prime Minister of Georgia. Also, Defense Minister Irakli Chikovani will be assigned the authority of the Vice Prime Minister of Georgia. We also have a change in the government administration. Mikheil Peikrishvili will become the head of the government's strategic communications department," Kobakhidze said.
