Georgian Olive, one of the country’s largest olive producers, expects to harvest around 700 tons of olives this season, nearly three times more than the 200-250 tons collected last year, according to founder Giorgi Svanidze.
Svanidze said the harvest will begin in late September and continue through November. The company currently operates nearly 1,500 hectares of olive groves in Kakheti, Bagdati, and Marneuli and continues to expand its plantations, having planted 280,000-300,000 new seedlings over the past year alone.
The company established its first olive orchards seven years ago and has since built two processing facilities, including a new plant in Dedoplistskaro opened last year with a GEL 7 million investment. The facility produces olive oil and marinated olives using modern processing technologies.
While most sales are generated in the domestic market, Georgian Olive also exports its products and is currently in talks with potential buyers in the Middle East, Kazakhstan, and the Netherlands. According to official statistics, Georgia’s olive and olive oil exports declined in the first four months of 2026 compared to the same period last year, with Armenia remaining the only export destination.
