In today’s session, the 11th convocation of the Georgian Parliament officially recognized the credentials of 150 newly elected MPs with a unanimous vote of 88 to 0. Following the recognition, the members took an oath of allegiance to the country.

Giorgi Kalandarishvili, Chairman of the Central Election Commission, presented the election results to the parliament and handed over the necessary documentation for credential recognition to the temporary mandate commission. The commission proceeded to elect its chairmen and secretaries and reviewed the submitted documents.

According to the official results, five political entities secured seats in the new parliament. The Georgian Dream party holds 89 mandates in the 150-member parliament, while the remaining seats are divided among the Coalition for Change, Unity – National Movement, Strong Georgia, and Gakharia-For Georgia. However, opposition parties have declared their intention not to enter parliament.

The oldest member of parliament, Lado Kakhadze, chairs the session until the election of the new parliament speaker.
