According to Davit Bardavelidze, founder of GEORGIAN PRODUCTS, animal feed will be exported to the European market in the fourth quarter of the year. As he says, unlike furniture and accessories, strict requirements should be satisfied to export animal feed to the EU market. “To export food, producer should first of all satisfy all the norms of ISO 22 000. After that, the whole production process is being monitored for 2-3 months and then product recipient needs another two-month procedure to get it to the market. We estimated that management systems, production, full installation of equipment will be completed in several months and we will start production in September.
The next step is to start implementations in EU. Before that, in cooperation with the National Food Agency of Georgia, I think we will complete the domestic tasks in June or July,” – says Davit Bardavelidze. According to him, before deciding to start new production, they conducted a 6-month research and started working only after that. “If we achieve this goal before the end of the year, this will be beneficial not only for our company, but rather for the whole country, since certain meat products will be admitted to the European Market. I believe that as soon as the first case is registered, raw material producers will follow us right away, they will have to undergo the same procedures and we will enter the EU market with Georgian meat,” – states Bardavelidze.
