Georgian Startup Mensa Sets Sights on International Expansion with Table Decor Brand

მენსა

Georgian startup Mensa has grown from a family-inspired idea into a fast-growing lifestyle brand offering premium table textiles and decor. Speaking on the Women's Narrative programme, co-founder Mariam Bochorishvili said the business was born from a passion for decorating family gatherings and celebrations, which later evolved into a commercial venture.

The company designs tablecloths, napkins, runners, placemats, and personalized embroidered pieces for weddings and special occasions. According to Bochorishvili, the products are intended to create not only functional table settings but also memorable experiences.

She explained that the brand name Mensa, meaning "table" in Latin, reflects the company's concept of bringing people together. The startup's slogan, "Made for Moments," emphasizes its focus on creating meaningful shared experiences, while the founders' backgrounds in marketing and communications have helped shape the brand's identity.

Mensa currently sells primarily through social media and the global marketplace Etsy, and is planning to expand into European markets. The company also aims to place its products in international concept stores as it grows its global presence.
